My name is Guntis Niedoliņš. I am a master of wood and my passion is to make kokle – an old Latvian string instrument with a soft and divine sound.

I live and work in Jūrkalne – a nice village on the coast of the Baltic sea in the West of Latvia. The area belongs to the Suiti cultural space (read more https://ich.unesco.org/en/USL/suiti-cultural-space-00314 ) with old and strong folklore traditions. The instrument called ‘kokle’ has been made and played here for several hundred years.
